Professional Profile

Latin Grammy-nominated artist Daniel Quesada is a creative composer, producer, conductor, and versatile performer based in Costa Rica and Europe. Known for his unique sound, he has composed and arranged an extensive catalog of projects, ranging from solo, chamber, and orchestral concert commissions to scores for short films, video games, theater, and contemporary dance performances, accumulating over a decade of dedicated professional experience.

A graduate of the University of Costa Rica and Berklee College of Music, Daniel has recorded, produced, and conducted his original compositions with internationally renowned ensembles and orchestras. His work spans prestigious European studios and theaters, including the Budapest Art Orchestra in Hungary, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the Reina Sofía Conservatory in Madrid, and Air Studios in London.

As a performer, his "percussion colorist" approach has driven a prolific studio career with numerous recording sessions at Grammy-winning facilities, such as Jazztone Studios in Spain and Musitica Studios in Costa Rica. He has also performed extensively with prominent ensembles and orchestras across his home country, Spain, and the United States. Notable collaborations include the Contemporary Ensemble, the UCR Percussion Ensemble, the Sewanee Symphony Orchestra, the University of Costa Rica Symphony Orchestra, and the Heredia Symphony Orchestra, where his role as a percussion soloist contributed to Latin Grammy-nominated albums.

Daniel has actively participated as a performer, composer, and guest professor in international festivals, conventions, recording sessions, and concert tours across the United States, Europe, and Central America. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with world-class composers, producers, and conductors, including Magda Giannikou, Olga Román, Albert Palau, Sergio Martínez, Giancarlo Guerrero, Arturo Márquez, Eduardo García, Fernando Meza, Gene Moon, Gemma New, Carl St. Clair, Joaquín Orellana, Eddie Mora, and Alejandro Gutiérrez.

Currently based in Costa Rica, Daniel balances his passion for education with a thriving career as a freelance composer and recording artist for diverse clients worldwide.
